What is Tide with a Touch of Downy?
Tide with a touch of Downy is a version of Tide that gives your whole wash a great clean and goes one step further by giving you a touch of Downy for softness that starts in the wash and continues through the rinse.
How do I use this product? Is there a special order of addition?
This product can be used instead of a regular detergent. It just needs to be added in the place of your regular detergent in the wash.
Fabric Softeners are typically added in the rinse and not in the main wash. Do I have to add some of this product in the rinse?
No. The product needs to be added only in the wash instead of a regular detergent.
What is Tide HE?
Tide HE is a high efficiency detergent designed specifically for use in high efficiency washers. Because of lower water usage (as compared to traditional machines) and the tumbling action of these machines, Tide HE's special low-sudsing formula helps to maximize good cleaning performance.
Can I use regular detergent in my HE machine?
Using traditional detergent in an HE washing machine can cause excess suds. Excess suds could lead to washer problems, and just using a smaller dose of regular detergent won’t solve the problem. According to the Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), HE detergents are the "only choice" for HE washers. Tide® HE and your HE washer work hand-in-hand to get you the results you expect. Using the wrong formula of detergent in your high efficiency washer means you may not get the cleaning results you've come to expect from Tide.
How does Tide HE work differently than other Tide formulas?
HE washing machines use less water than traditional machines. However, you still have the same amount of dirty laundry. And as a result, there is a much higher concentration of soil to the amount of water in the HE washing machine. Due to this increased soil concentration, Tide HE Liquid and Powder products are specially formulated with increased levels of ingredients that suspend this higher level of soil, helping to prevent it from re-depositing on clothes during the wash cycle. This helps leave your clothes looking white and helps prevent dinginess on all your clothes in HE washing machines.
Also, HE washing machines are high sudsing machines so Tide HE Liquid and Powder are low suds formulas. This allows you to use a full dose of Tide HE without having to worry about over-sudsing in your machine (which can be damaging).
