Reviving last spring's favorite outfits

If you think about it, reviving your warm-weather wardrobe is a lot like the spring season: It starts all drab and old — then slowly, with a little love and a few April showers, it will be reborn! There's no need to start from scratch when it comes to spring clothes. Just give your fabrics a fighting chance. Here are a few ways to make your closet feel as fresh and fragrant as those flowers in your front yard.

Deal with dingy whites

Only the weak claim that whites last for just one season! Dinginess shouldn't get between you and your favorite outfits. See if you can add the “bright” back into your whites with this tried-and-true Tide stain solution.

  • To start, create a soak solution in a plastic bucket using ½ Tide with Bleach per gallon of water.
  • Allow the garment(s) to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Keep fully submerged with a white towel.
  • Wash in the hottest water that's safe for the fabric, using Tide with Bleach.
  • Air dry. And repeat if necessary.

Spot-check essentials

Its true that time can make stain removal more difficult. But that doesn't mean impossible! Take a careful look at even your freshest spring revivals and check for stains. Sweat and sunscreen can be the hardest to spot when you're getting dressed, but no one wants to be caught outdoors “on the spot.” Take a look at "Tide's Stain Solutions" for all your toughest stain mysteries.

Host a clothing swap

No mater how judicious you are in the store, you're bound to have perfectly good outfits that you never wore last year. So host a clothing swap and find someone who will wear them! It's a great chance to sort out the wearable and the unbearable from last season — plus, you never know what your girlfriends will bring over. It's a win-win situation for all!

Hold inventory, THEN shop

After you find the gaps in your wardrobe, it's time for your favorite part of all: shopping! Head out on the town to fill your closet gaps with this season's must-haves. Spring is all about retro floral prints and bold colors — so have fun and revive that so-you spring style.
