Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you can’t get into the Halloween spirit! But how do you add some flair without losing face in front of the neighbors? Below are some fun, simple ways to dress up your trick-or-treat routine. Maybe you’ll be inspired to join your costumed kids on Halloween night!
Sometimes an accessory or two is all you need to get into the spirit. Try a witch hat, a wand, or a set of vampire teeth. Its just enough to excite the kiddies, but not too much to make you self-conscious.
Some of the simplest costumes can come out of the clothing that you have. Wear a white and red striped shirt and a pair of faux spectacles, and suddenly your everyone’s favorite hidden picture book hero. Get creative with classic outfits, and you won’t have to buy a thing.
Once your kids are out trick-or-treating, try lighting the way with some glow-in-the-dark jewelry. Your local drugstore or Halloween shop should have glow necklaces, earrings, and all sorts of fun glowy things. A pink ring around you neck will be just enough to make your son smile.
And don’t forget to pack a Tide to Go pen for the gooey, chocolaty aftermath. Those candy stains can be especially scary.
If nothing else, dressing up for Halloween will remind you of how fun it used to be when you were a kid, out and about after bedtime. Relive every moment of it with your own little princesses and action heroes.
