Up and out the door with Tide
School’s back. As any mom knows, getting the kids out the door for school can be like rallying the troops at Waterloo. From making sure that everyone’s wearing the right shoes to making sure jackets are zipped up, there’s a lot to do. So here are some ideas from Tide® on how to get your kids ready for school and looking their best—and not lose your mind.
Pick out outfits the night before.
This not only saves you precious time in the morning, but it allows you to check for stains and see if anything needs to be washed, altered, or ironed. For stain solutions, visit the Stain Solutions section.
Keep your kids looking their best.
Surely you want your kids to look their best for school all the time. A sure way to do this is to ensure that their clothes look their best. Help protect colors and preserve their outfits, new and old, by washing with Tide TOTALCARE which helps keep clothes like new even after 30 washes. Think of the money you're saving— you’ll be preserving clothes instead of spending on additional clothing. You can then spend that money on clothes for the coming season or next school year. Or you can treat yourself to a relaxing pedicure to take the edge off the back-to-school craziness!
Avoid wrinkles or fix them fast.
Then, of course, there's ironing — there's your 12-year-old daughter's pleated mini she has to have and your son’s kakis. For fast problem solving, use Downy Wrinkle Releaser instead of ironing—simply spray, tug, and smooth!
Manage time: add an extra 15 minutes per kid
Add an extra 15 minutes per kid when figuring out what time you need to start getting ready. A button-down shirt on a 2-year-old may look darling, but first you have to catch him and hold his flailing legs while you fumble with those tiny buttons. (Of course, there's always bribery.) Just don't underestimate how long it takes to get clothes on and ready… and get everyone to the bus stop or loaded in the car.
Assemble a "clean-up" kit
Assemble a "clean-up" kit to combat anything from kitty hair to cowlicks. Stash a lint brush, travel-size comb, baby wipes, and a Tide to Go pen in a Ziploc bag. Keep this near the door, and give everyone a final once-over on the way out. Keep the kit in your bag (or the backseat of the car) just in case it’s needed.
You're set, sane, and everyone looks like an angel! Now you can plan for tomorrow!
