With May now here, the nice weather has really set in. That’s usually the best antidote for any remnants of cabin fever that you may still have from this past winter, and we’re all happier for it!  Especially your kids, who've been cooped up indoors like hibernating cubs all winter. So, let’s get you outside! Take a look at some of these fun springtime activities that you and your children can take part in together, and enjoy the great outdoors!

Star gaze

Switch things up a bit, and plan to have dinners outdoors just around the time when the moon is out. You can set up shop outside on your patio or backyard, or when you take a trip to a local park. Kids will get a kick out of spending dinner time outside, and it gives everyone a great opportunity to check out the stars. You can even bring a star-watching guide book along, or just read up on constellations beforehand and point them out with your children.  If you’re lucky, you might even spot a comet or two and inspire your kids to become future astronauts! Oh, and in case you happen to come across any dinner-time stains, try Tide with Dawn Stain Scrubbers, which helps lift off tough, greasy food stains.

Get the pedals spinning

Another great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors is the family bike ride. You can take in some fresh spring air, and observe the sights and sounds of the season all at once. Just get the bikes out of storage, make sure to air up all the tires, check your helmets to ensure that they are still the right fit, and you're all ready to roll. Take a ride around the neighborhood, or in the heart of town. For added motivation, let the kids know that you’ll stop for some ice cream or smoothies along the way as a treat. Keep a Tide to Go® pen handy in case you come across any sudden stain accidents, and remove the stains on the spot! To really embrace the season, choose scenic bike paths or parks that will allow you and your kids to enjoy the blooming flowers and trees.

Fouuuuurrrr!

Looking for a slightly different twist? Try enjoying the outdoors with the family by going on a mini-golf excursion. Sure, we’d all like to think we’re pro golfers, but the truth is we’re definitely not. The good thing about mini-golf is that it’s so easy to play you can actually pretend you are a pro, if only for the first couple of holes. Kids can really have a blast, as it gives them an opportunity to get the competitive juices flowing, be active, and be outside all at once. Plus, the occasional or sometimes frequent poor shot is always good for some laughs. So find the local mini-golf course in your area and check for their season-opening special rates. Most courses even offer night-time mini-golf, in case you and your kids are up for a fun night of golf under the bright lights. And if your kids pick up a grass stain or two during the process, Tide with Bleach Alternative is a smart choice to fight the stains and it helps keep whites bright and colors true. Just remember, that springtime weather can be variable, so try layering when dressing for the outdoors, especially at night when it can get a little cool. Swing away!
