Lunchtime Stains
It’s back-to-school time again! With that comes what seems like a never-ending list of “to do’s”. Preparing for your kid’s lunch every day is just one of those tiring tasks. And where there are food and children, no doubt there will be stains. Luckily, we’ve got some tips on how to handle some of the most common lunchtime stains. This way, you won’t have to worry if that peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich you packed earlier is going to come back to haunt you as a laundry nightmare.
Ketchup stains
Whether it’s on a bologna sandwich, or over French fries, ketchup stains are a staple of most lunch rooms. So if your kid decides to come home with a ketchup stain story to tell, you can just listen without having to fret. First off, make sure to scrape off any dried residue. Then simply pre-treat with Tide Liquid, and wash in warm water. For an added boost, try Tide Stain Release. It’s a new in-wash booster that works with your detergent to help remove tough stains the 1st time. All you have to do is add it in with your Tide Liquid detergent and let it go to work on those ketchup stains.
Fruit Juice
So your kids accidentally let some fruit juice get on the loose and onto their clothes? No worries. Fruit juice stains are not nearly as tough to tackle as they may seem. Make sure to rinse the garments in cold water to dilute the stain. Then create a soak solution using ½ use of Tide Liquid per gallon of water, and let the garment sit for about 30 minutes. Wash in warm water with Tide Liquid, or with the Good Housekeeping's VIP Award winner, Tide TOTALCARE, which helps keep clothes like new.
Peanut Butter & Jelly
The cornerstone of lunchtime meals, peanut butter and jelly stains are just as common as they appear in lunchboxes. But they also happen to be one the easiest to treat. For peanut butter stains, make sure you scrape off any excess residue, then simply pre-treat with Tide Liquid and wash in hot water with either Tide Liquid or Tide TOTALCARE. For jelly stains, make sure to run the stain through coldwater first. Then pre-treat with Tide Liquid and wash in warm water with Tide Liquid as well. Also, Tide Stain Release happens to work very well on strawberry jelly stains, so make sure to add in the in-wash booster with your detergent.
