How It works
HE washing machines use less water than a regular top-loading washing machine. However, you still have the same amount of dirty laundry. And as a result, there is a much higher concentration of soil to the amount of water in the HE washing machine. Due to this increased soil concentration, 2X Ultra Tide HE is specially formulated with ingredients that suspend this higher level of soil, helping to prevent it from redepositing on clothes during the wash cycle.
Also, HE washing machines are higher-sudsing machines, so 2X Ultra Tide HE is a low-suds formula. This allows you to use a full dose of 2X Ultra Tide HE without having to worry about over-sudsing in your machine (which can be damaging).

What's the difference between regular detergent and HE detergent?

Does 2X Ultra Tide HE do as many loads as nonconcentrated Tide HE?
Yes, a 2.95L bottle of 2X Ultra Tide does the same number of loads as the 5.91L bottle of nonconcentrated Tide.
Do I need to dilute 2x Ultra Tide HE before I use it?
There is no need to dilute 2X Ultra Tide HE prior to use. As noted in the usage instructions on the packaging, fill the cap of 2x Ultra Tide HE to the appropriate line and pour it.
Will the concentration of 2X Ultra Tide HE damage my clothing?
2X Ultra Tide HE is designed to provide the same level of care for your clothing that you expect from nonconcentrated Tide HE.
Can I just use a smaller amount of regular detergent in my HE washer?
According to the Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), HE detergents are the "only choice" for HE washers. Using less regular detergent than recommended for the load size (in an effort to control suds) may mean reduced cleaning.

Using regular detergents can create too many suds, which can interfere with the washer's tumbling action by "cushioning" the laundry, and reducing soil and stain removal.
